A project assisted by the People’s Republic of China Poverty Reduction and Regional Cooperation Fund, in partnership with civil society organizations in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, the Philippines, and Thailand, underscores the importance of community capacity in health care, economic resilience, and partnerships.

ADB and Raks Thai Foundation, with support from the Poverty Reduction and Regional Cooperation Fund, implemented a project to address the plight of migrant workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in three Thai provinces, emphasizing community-led prevention, the establishment of social protection systems, and economic support for jobless migrant workers.

It is about trading better: Central Asia sees improved trade integration, infrastructure, and systems as key to boosting economic growth, jobs, and opportunity.

Following the 2015 deadly earthquake, ADB worked with Nepal in setting up the Earthquake Emergency Assistance Project, which helped rebuild around 154 school buildings and facilitated the reconstruction and rehabilitation of 301 kilometers of district roads, 57 severely damaged buildings, and 61 slightly damaged buildings.

With grant support from the People’s Republic of China, Ireland, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the Regional Malaria and Other Communicable Disease Threats Trust Fund, ADB is scaling up efforts to help the health and economic systems of its developing member countries respond to COVID-19 outbreaks and future pandemics.
